JUI-F Refuses to Participate in PTI’s September 27 Long March
Islamabad (Qudrat Daily): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Senator Kamran Murtaza has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had contacted them regarding participation in the September 27 protest, however, JUI-F had refused to take part in it. Speaking to the media, Kamran Murtaza stated that initially Barrister Gohar had contacted them on behalf of PTI, but at that time he himself was not available.
Later, PTI leader Ali Zafar also came to meet him. Ali Zafar was aware that JUI-F had already excused itself from participating in the September 27 protest, therefore subsequent matters were discussed. During the meeting, various proposals came forward from both sides and discussions were held in this regard.
Kamran Murtaza said that PTI would have also deliberated on these proposals internally, however, JUI-F had made it clear that participation in the protest was not possible for it.
He said that PTI had already decided on the protest, and afterwards inviting another political party of a different nature to join its political strength in the protest just a week prior was not appropriate. According to him, this decision was not suitable for both parties. It is noteworthy that journalist Syed Zeeshan Aziz had already reported that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had clearly refused to participate in PTI’s “long march,” saying that “do not talk to us about this ‘long march.'” Now Senator Kamran Murtaza has also confirmed that JUI-F will not be participating in PTI’s September 27 long march.
