I Paid Millions of Rupees in Aircraft Expenses from My Own Pocket, Yet Criticism Continues: Maryam Nawaz

MULTAN (Daily Qudrat) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that there is a lot of criticism that Maryam Nawaz booked a government aircraft. I thought if the plane is being criticized, then I would sit on a Chingchi and go to Multan. Every Chief Minister has a government aircraft. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the electric bus service in Multan, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the criticism is not against me but against Punjab’s development. They are bothered by the Rs 9 billion aircraft. The aircraft is not mine; it belongs to the Chief Minister of Punjab. I will not take it home. Criticism is being directed only at me.

Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab has not usurped anyone’s right; we have always given to other provinces from our own share. The criticism is happening because I work. Rs 300 billion have been spent on our own home and own roof scheme.

You held how many programs for building 200,000 homes and new hospitals? She said that I paid millions of rupees in aircraft expenses from my own pocket, yet criticism continues. A Chief Minister is never on leave, wherever she may be. I even work while on the plane. Maryam Nawaz’s critics get dollars for criticizing her. Who are you to criticize me? Before becoming Chief Minister, I used to travel abroad on commercial flights. For the prosperity of the people, wherever I have to go by plane, I will go.
