“Sister, What Have We Ever Done to You?” – Amir Haider Hoti Reacts to Maryam Nawaz’s Statement

Peshawar – Senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, has expressed an extremely strong reaction to a statement by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying that viewing and targeting Pashtuns with unnecessary suspicion is unacceptable.
According to details, Amir Haider Hoti, in a statement addressed to the Punjab Chief Minister, said that the Chief Minister of Punjab says she feels threatened by Pashtuns. “Sister, what have we ever done to you?” he asked. He said that Pashtun homes and businesses have been ruined in a war that was not even ours — meaning that we were the ones killed, we were the ones defamed, and today the same Pashtun is being viewed with suspicion.
Additionally, the former Chief Minister also strongly criticized the province’s current political situation and the helplessness of the rulers. Criticizing the current provincial leadership, he said that the Chief Minister sitting here is in a weaker position than even a generator. He said that although the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave them their votes, instead of serving the people, they are busy filling their own pockets. He added that the federal government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also have no authority, and if anyone approaches them with an issue, the response they receive is, “I will ask and let you know.”
