Hafizullah Niazi Says Current Political System May End Earlier Than Expected
ISLAMABAD:Political analyst Hafizullah Niazi has said that he had expected the current political system to complete its tenure in 2031, but those “engineers” sitting in the driving seat may be in too much of a hurry, suggesting that political figures planning to switch loyalties should consider leaving the system sooner rather than later.
In a series of remarks on X, Niazi said the situation had already deteriorated, although those responsible would realize it only when “the water reaches their necks” and it is time for them to sink.
He also remarked that there appeared to be someone within the system whose presence made an enemy unnecessary, suggesting that certain elements were harming the system from within.
Niazi acknowledged that his previous political assessments about the system had proved incorrect and apologized for his predictions.
He said he had initially believed that the current system, which began around mid-2023, would have an eight-year “expiry date” ending in 2031. However, he said, the “engineers” controlling the steering wheel appeared eager to accelerate its end.
According to Niazi, Pakistan’s political history suggests that a “Made in Pakistan” system generally has a shelf life of around eight to ten years. He argued that the confidence and speed of those steering the current system had instead shortened its expected lifespan.
Offering what he described as “elderly advice,” Niazi said those intending to change loyalties and leave the “fast-moving vehicle” of the current system should arrange their exit immediately.
He added that, in his view, only the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) would fully understand the depth of his remarks, while other political parties were not yet in a position where they needed to act on his advice.
