No Government Job Will Be Sold in Balochistan, CM Sarfraz Bugti Vows
QUETTA:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has made a firm commitment to ensuring transparency and merit in government recruitment, declaring that no government job will be sold in the province.
“I said from day one that no job would be sold. All cabinet members, including the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, are on the same page on this principled position,” the chief minister said.
Chairing a meeting of the Secretaries Committee, CM Bugti reviewed the performance of various departments and ordered a high-level investigation into complaints of irregularities in recruitment in the Forest Department.
He said that if credible evidence was found and an impartial investigation established wrongdoing, those involved would not escape punishment.
“If credible evidence of jobs being sold is found in any department, neither the minister nor the secretary of that department will remain in their positions,” Bugti declared.
He said the government would not allow the jobs of young people who endure extreme cold and heat in search of employment to be sold.
“It is absolutely unacceptable to allow the jobs of Balochistan’s youth to be sold. Officers must ensure complete implementation of the directives,” he said.
The chief minister expressed full confidence in the officers, saying they were capable and had the ability to take Balochistan in the right direction.
He stressed that there would be no room for error or compromise in matters involving the buying and selling of jobs, adding that “there will be no forgiveness” in such cases.
Bugti directed all secretaries to take an oath before Allah that they would not allow the jobs of Balochistan’s youth to be sold.
He also instructed officials to keep a close watch on subordinate staff and recruitment committees, saying no irregularity at any level would be tolerated.
The chief minister said the government would withstand every kind of pressure to prevent the sale of government jobs, but would not compromise on the rights of Balochistan’s youth.
He said meritocracy was essential to restoring young people’s confidence in the state and directed officials to ensure strict compliance with government orders.
