‘Fake Evidence Was Presented and the Interview Was Done With a Friend’: Momina Iqbal Denies Saqib Chadhar’s Allegations
LAHORE: Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has rejected as false the allegations leveled against her and her sister by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar.
Following the circulation of an interview given by Saqib Chadhar, Momina Iqbal shared an Instagram story in which she also posted a video from the wedding reception of the host who conducted the interview.
The actress alleged that the podcast interview was conducted with the host, whom she described as the interviewer’s friend, and claimed that “fake evidence” was presented to her during the programme.
Addressing Saqib Chadhar, Momina said that if he was making such allegations publicly, he should also have presented the alleged evidence before the public on camera so that people could decide for themselves whether the claims were true or false.
She further said that she and her family had been bound by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) from making certain material public.
“Otherwise, I would also have made your voice notes and the recorded phone calls received from your wife public,” she claimed, adding that even a 50-second voice note would have been enough to counter what she described as false claims.
Momina added that Saqib Chadhar could continue doing whatever he wanted, but she said that she placed her trust in Allah.
Momina’s Husband Alleges Threats
Meanwhile, Momina Iqbal’s husband, Hamza Habib, has also leveled serious allegations against Saqib Chadhar.
In an Instagram story, Hamza claimed that after attempts to win people over to their side had failed, efforts were now allegedly being made to arrange shooters to kill him and his wife.
The allegations and counter-allegations between the two sides remain disputed.
