‘If Millions Join PTI Protest, It Will Be Difficult for Government to Control Situation’: Muneeb Farooq
ISLAMABAD: Political analyst Muneeb Farooq has said that if even 200,000 to 300,000 people join a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoy heading towards Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it would become extremely difficult for the government and administration to stop them.
Speaking in his vlog, Muneeb Farooq said PTI leaders were talking about bringing 2 million to 4 million people to Islamabad, while claims had also emerged that around 500,000 people had registered for the protest.
He said that if 200,000, 250,000 or 300,000 people arrived in a convoy, neither Islamabad Police nor any other institution would be in a position to control such a large crowd. He noted that even managing a gathering of 50,000 people had been difficult in the past, making a much larger crowd a major challenge for the government.

Muneeb Farooq said the government was apparently trying to give the impression that it was not particularly concerned about the possible PTI protest or the arrival of its workers in Islamabad on September 27. However, he added that political pressure remains a reality for every government, regardless of how strong it may appear.
The analyst said Pakistan’s economy was already facing difficulties and the government was under pressure due to various challenges. He added that rising global oil prices following the Iran-US war had further increased Pakistan’s economic problems.
He warned that if political dialogue between the PTI and the government failed to progress and a large number of workers reached Islamabad, the resulting situation could also affect businesses and the economy.
Muneeb Farooq said that if the situation escalated beyond a protest and turned into a major public reaction or what he described as a “revolution,” it could become impossible for anyone to control, forcing the government to take emergency measures.
