Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns Landmine Blast That Killed Three Brothers in Duki

QUETTA: The Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) has expressed deep grief and condemnation over the death of three brothers in a landmine explosion in the Killi Bakhtiar Khan area of Duki’s Loni region.

In a statement, the party said the deaths were a tragic reminder of the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan, where terrorism, targeted killings, kidnappings, landmine explosions and other violent incidents have made life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens.

The party said the deaths of three young brothers from the same family represented an irreparable loss for their relatives and the entire area. It extended condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family and demanded immediate financial assistance for the victims’ relatives.

The PNAP called for a complete, transparent and impartial investigation into the Duki incident and demanded that those responsible be identified and brought to justice.

The party also expressed concern over the recent increase in terrorist incidents across the province. Referring to the attack in the Mangi area of Ziarat, in which 31 police personnel were reportedly killed, it said the incident raised serious questions about the province’s law-and-order situation.

The party extended condolences to the families of the police personnel and called for those responsible for such attacks to be punished according to law.

According to the PNAP, a continuing series of incidents in Shahreg of Harnai, Duki, Hanna Urak, Ziarat, Saranan, Qila Abdullah and other areas has demonstrated that workers, police personnel, political activists and other citizens remain vulnerable.

The party particularly highlighted the risks faced by mine workers in Duki and Harnai, saying insecurity was threatening both their lives and livelihoods.

The PNAP said the growing presence of landmines in rural areas, mountainous routes, agricultural land, populated areas and roads had become a serious threat to civilians. It urged the government to identify contaminated areas and immediately deploy trained and specialized teams to clear the mines.

The party maintained that temporary security operations and formal statements were insufficient to eliminate terrorism. It called on the government and relevant institutions to determine the root causes of the violence, identify those responsible and investigate how militant groups obtain resources and logistical support.

The party said citizens had the right to receive clear and satisfactory answers about the security situation and the policies being adopted to combat terrorism.

The PNAP demanded comprehensive investigations into the Duki landmine explosion and other recent terrorist incidents, the arrest and prosecution of perpetrators and facilitators, and immediate financial and medical assistance for victims and injured persons.

It also called for effective, long-term support arrangements for affected families.

The party stressed that ensuring peace, security, justice, education, employment and basic services was a fundamental responsibility of the state and government.

The PNAP reiterated its condemnation of all forms of terrorism, extremism, violence, kidnapping, targeted killing and attacks on innocent civilians, emphasizing the need for democratic, political and people-centered measures to establish lasting peace.

It urged the government to fulfill its constitutional and legal responsibilities to protect citizens so that the people of Balochistan could live with peace, security and dignity rather than fear and violence.
