Khuzdar: Armed Attack on Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal’s Residence, One Attacker Reportedly Injured

QUETTA: Armed men reportedly opened fire on the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Jhalawan Awami Panel chief Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal in Tootak area of Khuzdar district on Friday.

According to security forces sources, the armed attackers targeted Mengal’s residence, prompting his guards and security personnel to retaliate.

One of the attackers was reportedly injured during the exchange of fire, the sources said.

Following the incident, the attackers fled the scene, while security forces launched a pursuit operation against them.

Further action and investigations are underway, according to security officials. No further details regarding casualties or the identity of the attackers were immediately available.
