PML-N Leadership Became Worried After Supreme Court Ruling on Imran Khan: Mansoor Ali Khan

ISLAMABAD: Renowned anchorperson and political analyst Mansoor Ali Khan has claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership became deeply concerned after the Supreme Court issued its decision regarding the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan for medical treatment.

Speaking during a programme, Mansoor Ali Khan said that after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Imran Khan’s hospital transfer, PML-N leaders in Islamabad and Punjab were reportedly alarmed and contacted him to understand how the decision had come about.

He said the PML-N leadership was particularly concerned about whether there was any political understanding or “deal” behind the development.

According to Mansoor Ali Khan, the military leadership in Rawalpindi repeatedly assured PML-N leaders that there was no deal involved. However, he claimed that the PML-N leadership continued to view the situation with suspicion.

Commenting on the government’s political position, Mansoor Ali Khan said the current administration appeared politically weak, alleging that even a small group of YouTubers and several political workers outside Shifa International Hospital had become difficult for the government to handle.

He described the situation as politically embarrassing for the government.

The analyst also addressed reports circulating about PTI founder Imran Khan and his sister Aleema Khan.

He said family sources had rejected reports claiming that Imran Khan had made harsh remarks about Aleema Khan.

According to Mansoor Ali Khan, Aleema Khan could not attend the press conference because of her engagements in Karachi, but remained in contact with her sisters by telephone until the last moment.

He added that Aleema Khan was expected to visit Adiala Jail on Tuesday to meet Imran Khan.

Mansoor Ali Khan stressed that journalism should be based on truth and responsibility and urged media outlets to avoid broadcasting unverified information.
