Turbat Blast, Attack on Balochistan Home Minister Condemned: Rahmat Saleh Baloch

QUETTA: National Party central leader and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch has strongly condemned the blast in Turbat and the attack on Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau in Mastung.

He expressed relief that the home minister remained safe and said those targeting innocent and unarmed people could not be considered well-wishers of Balochistan.

Rahmat Saleh Baloch said the blast in Turbat was an extremely tragic and condemnable incident in which innocent civilians were targeted. He said Balochistan had already been facing political, economic and social challenges for decades, and targeting innocent people amounted to hostility towards the people of the province.

He said elements using violence and explosions to create fear among ordinary citizens were neither sincere with the people of Balochistan nor concerned about the province’s future. “No problem can be resolved by shedding the blood of innocent citizens,” he said.

The National Party leader said negative elements were attempting to create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in Balochistan, damage economic activity and push the province further towards instability. Such actions, he added, directly harmed the collective interests of Balochistan.

He said the people of Balochistan needed peace, employment, education, healthcare and opportunities for development—not fear, violence and death.

Rahmat Saleh Baloch urged the government and relevant institutions to take effective measures to prevent such incidents, stressing that lasting improvements in law and order were needed instead of temporary responses.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast and attack and called for the provision of the best possible medical treatment and all necessary assistance to the affected families.

He said the people of Balochistan could not support any act that made their homes, markets, roads and future unsafe. The province’s path forward, he said, lay through peace, political dialogue, democratic struggle and public welfare, not violence and fear.

Baloch added that no action targeting innocent civilians could be described as being in the interest of Balochistan or part of a struggle for rights. Protecting the people and ensuring a peaceful future for Balochistan, he said, should remain the foremost priority of every political and social force.
