Balochistan CM Reviews Progress on Sui Master Plan, Orders Timely Completion of Projects

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired an important meeting on Tuesday to review progress on the Sui Master Plan and directed authorities to complete all projects on time while ensuring high construction standards.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakil Qadir Khan, Finance Secretary Jahangir Khan, Project Director Rafiq Baloch, Chief of Kalpar Wadera Jalal Khan Kalpar and other stakeholders and relevant officials attended the meeting.

Members of the National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) board officials, Commissioner Sibi Division, Deputy Commissioner South Dera Bugti Zohaib-ul-Hassan and Chairman Sui Municipal Committee Izzat Aman Bugti participated through video link.

The meeting reviewed detailed progress on Phase-I of the Sui Master Plan, with participants receiving briefings on various components of the project.

The meeting was informed that Phase-I would include projects such as illuminated roads, a sewerage system, Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Stadium, a ladies’ park, a bus terminal, a truck stand and other essential civic facilities.

Officials said the projects would be completed within a short period through equal 50-50 percent funding by the Government of Balochistan and Pakistan Petroleum Limited. The initiatives are expected to significantly improve civic facilities and infrastructure in Sui.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti directed officials to ensure that construction quality was not compromised in any project being executed under the Sui Master Plan.

He warned that strict legal action would be taken against the responsible firms and individuals in case of substandard work.

The chief minister said Sui would be transformed into a modern and exemplary civic city, adding that there should be a visible difference between development in Sui over the past 50 years and the achievements of the current government during its two-year tenure.

He said providing basic civic facilities to the people of Sui was among the government’s priorities.

Sarfraz Bugti directed relevant officials to treat the Sui Master Plan not merely as a development scheme but as a noble cause of public service.

He urged officials to personally monitor the projects with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment so that residents could receive timely and quality facilities.
