NEPRA Increases Electricity Tariff by Rs0.75 Per Unit Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs0.75 per unit in electricity tariffs across Pakistan under the monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism.

According to an official notification, the increase has been made as part of the June monthly adjustment and will also apply to consumers of K-Electric. The additional charges will be reflected in electricity bills issued during August.

Earlier, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs1.20 per unit for the June adjustment. However, NEPRA approved a lower increase of Rs0.75 per unit.

Previously, under the May monthly adjustment, electricity tariffs had been increased by Rs0.34 per unit nationwide.
