Trump Says Iran Has ‘Last Chance’ to Reach Deal, Claims Strait of Hormuz Will Fully Reopen
Washington:U.S. President **Donald Trump** delivered a strong message to Iran, saying Tehran has its “last chance” to sign an agreement, while claiming that the Strait of Hormuz will be fully reopened to maritime traffic by the following day.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said restoring normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is the first phase of the current diplomatic process, to be followed by negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
He described the issue as “not very complicated” and expressed confidence that it would soon be resolved.
The U.S. president reiterated that Washington would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances, calling it a fundamental U.S. policy that is not open to compromise.
Trump also said that no transit fees or tolls would be imposed on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that if any party attempted to levy charges on ships using the international waterway, the United States would respond in kind.
Claiming that the United States has full control over the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said time is rapidly running out for Iran to sign an agreement, adding that it is now up to Tehran to decide whether it will pursue the diplomatic path.
