Lahore Declares Local Holiday on August 4 for Data Ganj Bakhsh’s Annual Urs

Lahore: The Punjab Government has declared August 4 a local public holiday in Lahore on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) and has issued an official notification in this regard.

According to the notification, all district offices and government institutions operating under the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore will remain closed on August 4. The holiday will apply only to offices that fall under the jurisdiction of the district administration.

The notification clarified that the Punjab Civil Secretariat, its administrative departments, and other provincial-level government offices are exempt from the local holiday and will remain open as usual.

The government said the holiday has been announced to facilitate administrative arrangements, security measures, and religious activities associated with the annual Urs, which is expected to attract thousands of devotees from across the country.

The district administration is also making extensive arrangements for security, traffic management, and other public services to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious event.
