Oil Prices Fall as Signs of Easing U.S.-Iran Tensions Boost Market Sentiment

London:Global oil prices declined sharply after signs of possible de-escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran eased concerns over potential supply disruptions.
The market reacted after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a proposed military operation against Iran had been postponed, raising hopes that diplomatic efforts could prevent further conflict in the Middle East.
According to **Reuters**, Brent crude futures fell by **$4.08** per barrel to **$83.85**, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped **$4.01** to **$80.66** per barrel.
Market analysts said investors viewed the latest developments as a positive signal that regional tensions may be easing, temporarily reducing fears over oil supply disruptions from the Middle East. The improved sentiment prompted a broad sell-off in crude prices.
Last month, oil prices surged after renewed concerns over possible U.S. military action against Iran and attacks on several oil tankers near Oman. Those developments pushed both Brent and WTI crude prices up by more than **20 percent**, reflecting heightened concerns about the security of global energy supplies.
