PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Blames Ruling Parties for Political Crisis, Calls for National Government

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has criticized the ruling coalition, saying the public should be told who pushed the country’s current political system into “default mode.”

In a statement issued in response to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s recent remarks, Barrister Gohar alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were responsible for what he described as the deterioration of the country’s political system.

Commenting on proposals regarding the creation of new administrative units and provinces, the PTI chairman questioned whether the current government has the constitutional and political mandate to pursue such changes.

He argued that constitutional amendments concerning provincial restructuring require broad national consensus and a clear public mandate, which he claimed the two major ruling parties do not possess.

Barrister Gohar further alleged that both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari came to power through what PTI refers to as the “Form 47” electoral process.

Calling for a political solution, the PTI chairman demanded the immediate formation of a national government, saying it should oversee the country and pave the way for fresh general elections.
