Karachi Braces for Rain as Three-Day Weather Forecast Predicts Thunderstorms

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a three-day weather forecast for Karachi, predicting rain and thunderstorms in the city over the weekend.

According to weather experts, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Karachi on Saturday afternoon and evening. Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Sunday and Monday, with the sky expected to remain mostly cloudy and intermittent light to moderate rain forecast.

The Met Office said that the low-pressure system (depression) has weakened into a low-pressure area and is currently located over southeastern Rajasthan, India.

Due to this weather system, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are continuously affecting the upper and central parts of Pakistan. In addition, a westerly weather system is influencing the northern regions and is expected to intensify further, impacting many upper and central areas of the country.

Under the influence of these monsoon systems, thunderstorms and rain are also expected in several districts of rural Sindh, with the possibility of heavy downpours leading to urban flooding in some areas.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms.
