Quetta: Gas Explosion in Sorange Coal Mine Traps Over 25 Miners

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) A powerful gas explosion rocked the Sorange coal mining area in Quetta on Thursday, trapping more than 25 miners inside the mine. There are fears of possible casualties as rescue operations continue.According to rescue officials, the blast occurred in the Sardar Usman Lease in Sorange. At the time of the incident, over 25 miners were working inside the coal mine when gas accumulated, triggering the explosion. The blast caused a portion of the mine to collapse, trapping all the workers inside.Immediately after the explosion, teams from PDMA, Mines Rescue Service, and other emergency units rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation. So far, three miners have been successfully rescued alive. Rescue teams are continuing their efforts to reach and evacuate the remaining trapped workers.The district administration has declared an emergency in the area and called for additional rescue teams and equipment.
