Japanese Female Tourist Allegedly Harassed While Vlogging at Pakistan Monument; Islamabad Police Launch Investigation
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have launched an investigation after a video allegedly showing the harassment of a Japanese female tourist while she was vlogging at the Pakistan Monument went viral on social media.
According to reports, the Japanese travel vlogger was recording a video at the popular tourist site when several young men gathered around her and allegedly continued to follow her despite her repeated requests to be left alone.
The viral footage appears to show the tourist asking the individuals multiple times to maintain their distance and stop following her. However, some of the men allegedly continued asking her to follow their social media accounts, leaving her visibly uncomfortable during the encounter.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism on social media, with users condemning the alleged behavior as inappropriate and harmful to Pakistan’s image as a welcoming destination for international visitors. Many have called for the identification of those involved and urged authorities to take legal action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In response to the public outcry, Islamabad Police said they have taken notice of the viral video and initiated an investigation into all aspects of the incident. Authorities are currently reviewing the available footage and gathering relevant information to identify the individuals involved.
