Balochistan Government Stable, Change Rumors Baseless, Says Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi

Turbat:Balochistan Minister for Planning and Development **Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi** has dismissed reports of a change in the provincial government as baseless, stating that Chief Minister **Mir Sarfraz Bugti** is running the administration effectively and that the government remains focused on security, development, and economic progress.

Speaking to media representatives at his residence, Buledi said the provincial government is utilizing all available resources to eliminate terrorism, maintain law and order, ensure the timely completion of development projects, and reduce unemployment. He claimed that the current administration is the first in Balochistan’s history to achieve more than **100 percent implementation** of the Provincial Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

The minister described terrorism as a serious threat, alleging that foreign-backed elements operating across the border are attempting to destabilize Balochistan. He said the government, law enforcement agencies, and all relevant stakeholders remain committed to eradicating terrorism, emphasizing that maintaining peace and security is the government’s constitutional responsibility.

Buledi also stated that those supporting the ongoing insurgency are driven by geopolitical interests and seek to destabilize Pakistan, adding that the Baloch people have suffered the most from the conflict. He condemned the reported use of Baloch women in suicide attacks, calling it contrary to Baloch traditions, values, and the community’s code of conduct.

Referring to a recent meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the minister said there was no discussion about changing the provincial government. He rejected speculation regarding a government reshuffle or a “two-and-a-half-year formula,” describing such reports as mere rumors.

Buledi criticized political opponents, saying that whenever a government is formed in Balochistan, speculation about its removal begins. He added that although the National Party is the fifth-largest party in the Balochistan Assembly, it continues to aspire to lead the provincial government.

Highlighting development initiatives, the minister said major projects in roads, dams, education, healthcare, and other infrastructure sectors are progressing rapidly in his constituency. He said the completion of the Balida Development Package would bring significant economic growth to the region, while an expanded road network would connect Balida with the province, the rest of Pakistan, and international highways.

He further announced that **13 joint border markets** are being established along the borders with Iran and Afghanistan to promote cross-border trade, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic prosperity in border areas.
