Oil Prices Surge as US-Iran Tensions Raise Fears Over Global Supply

Global oil prices continued to climb as escalating U.S. military action against Iran and rising tensions in the Middle East fueled concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies.

According to the latest market data, **Brent crude** rose by **$1.93**, or nearly **2%**, to reach **$96 per barrel**, marking its highest level since **June 8**. Meanwhile, **U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI)** crude gained **$1.44**, or **1.7%**, to trade at **$88.27 per barrel**.

In the previous trading session, Brent crude had already surged by more than **$3** to close at **$94.07 per barrel**, while WTI also recorded an increase of nearly **3%**.

Market analysts attributed the recent rally primarily to the latest U.S. strikes on Iran and attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement on oil tankers in the Red Sea, which have heightened concerns over the security of global energy shipments.

Analysts warned that if regional tensions continue to escalate or if oil transportation through the **Strait of Hormuz** and the **Red Sea** faces further disruption, crude oil prices could rise even higher in the coming days.

Investors are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, including U.S. policy decisions, Iran’s potential response, and the impact on global supply chains, as these factors are expected to play a key role in determining the direction of oil prices.
