Trump Warns Iran After U.S. Soldier Killed in Iraq, Vows Strong Military Response

ISLAMABAD:U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran following the death of an American soldier in Iraq, saying Tehran would face severe consequences for any attack on U.S. personnel.

According to international media reports, Trump made the remarks on his social media platform, **Truth Social**, after a U.S. soldier was reportedly killed while attempting to dispose of explosive material allegedly dropped by an Iranian drone in Iraq.

The U.S. president stated that **any future killing of an American service member by Iran would be met with a response far greater than the attack itself**.

Trump also said he had instructed **Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Caine, and senior military commanders** to ensure an immediate and decisive response to any assault on U.S. personnel.

Earlier, the U.S. military confirmed the death of one of its service members in Iraq. According to the report, the latest casualty brings the total number of American personnel killed during the ongoing conflict involving Iran to **17**.

In a separate statement, Trump said **Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not be arrested if he visits the United States**, despite an arrest warrant issued by the **International Criminal Court (ICC)**.

His comments came after **New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani** reportedly suggested that Netanyahu could face arrest if he travels to New York to attend the **United Nations General Assembly** in September.

Although the ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, the **United States is not a member of the ICC and is not legally bound to enforce its rulings**.
