Four Karachi Police Officers Suspended Over Alleged Short-Term Kidnapping of Citizen

KARACHI:Four police officers have been suspended and an inquiry has been ordered following allegations that they were involved in the short-term kidnapping of a citizen in Karachi.

According to police, the incident occurred near **Darakhshan Police Station**, where the officers were conducting snap checking operations.

Police officials said the officers initially stopped the citizen for a routine inspection. However, after completing the check, they allegedly kept him in a police vehicle and drove him around various roads instead of releasing him immediately.

The citizen has accused the officers of demanding and receiving **Rs50,000** before letting him go.

Following the allegations, police authorities suspended the four officers and ordered a departmental inquiry to determine the facts and establish responsibility.
