Report Claims Pakistan Declares Saudi Arabia a “Red Line” Amid Rising Regional Tensions
ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistani journalist Mansoor Ali Khan, citing a Reuters report, has claimed that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has conveyed to Iran that Saudi Arabia is a “red line” for Pakistan, and that any attack on the Kingdom would be regarded as an attack on Pakistan.
According to the claims, Pakistani troops have been deployed along Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen as a precautionary measure amid growing regional security concerns.
The report states that Pakistan’s move was prompted by fears that escalating hostilities involving the Iran-backed Houthi movement could draw Pakistan into a broader regional conflict, particularly following missile attacks in the region earlier this year.
It further claims that Islamabad is concerned that continued Houthi-related tensions could disrupt shipping routes in the Arabian Sea, threatening key international trade corridors on which Pakistan and several other countries rely.

The report also alleges that widening differences between Iran’s political leadership and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are being closely monitored in Islamabad, with concerns that internal divisions could further complicate the regional security environment.
According to the report, Pakistan is also assessing the possibility that Saudi interests could become targets in a wider regional conflict, potentially triggering obligations under bilateral defense arrangements.
Reuters has reported these developments based on unnamed sources. Neither the Government of Pakistan, the Government of Iran, nor the Government of Saudi Arabia has officially confirmed the specific claims regarding the reported message to Iran or the alleged troop deployment.
