Pakistan’s Car Sales Surge as June 2026 Becomes Best Month of the Fiscal Year
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s automotive industry ended fiscal year 2025–26 on a strong note, with passenger vehicle sales rising by 28.9% month-on-month in June 2026, making it the best-performing month of the fiscal year.
The sharp increase came despite reports of rising vehicle prices, reflecting strong consumer demand as buyers rushed to purchase vehicles ahead of expected price hikes.
According to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), passenger car sales in June exceeded production, highlighting sustained market demand and robust activity across the auto sector.
Suzuki Alto remained Pakistan’s best-selling passenger car, with 7,239 units sold during June, accounting for nearly half of the country’s total passenger vehicle sales.
A total of 15,378 passenger cars were sold during the month, while 15,209 units were produced, indicating that demand continued to outpace supply.
The top-selling passenger vehicles in June 2026 were:
Suzuki Alto: 7,239 units
Toyota Corolla, Yaris & Corolla Cross: 2,650 units
Honda City & Civic: 2,594 units
Suzuki Swift: 1,668 units
Suzuki Bolan: 480 units
Suzuki Cultus: 439 units
Hyundai Elantra: 237 units
Hyundai Sonata: 51 units
Dewan Honri-Ve (Electric Vehicle): 20 units
Suzuki Alto also led vehicle production with 5,921 units manufactured during the month, followed by Toyota Corolla, Yaris & Corolla Cross with 3,100 units, Honda City & Civic with 2,692 units, and Suzuki Swift with 1,904 units.
Demand for SUVs and pickup vehicles also remained strong. A total of 7,363 units were sold in June, with Haval/Tank leading the segment at 2,720 units, followed by the Suzuki Fronx with 1,717 units, reflecting the growing popularity of crossover and SUV models in Pakistan.
Industry analysts said the record sales suggest that many consumers accelerated their purchases in anticipation of further price increases. Affordable hatchbacks, particularly the Suzuki Alto, continue to dominate the market, while demand for modern SUVs and crossover vehicles is steadily increasing, signaling a positive recovery in Pakistan’s automotive sector.
