National Party Demands Immediate Recovery of Noor Ahmed Lehri, Criticizes Balochistan Security Situation

Quetta: The National Party has demanded the immediate and safe recovery of Haji Noor Ahmed Lehri, the father of the party’s Central Women’s Secretary and former provincial lawmaker Yasmeen Lehri, following his reported abduction from his home.

Addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, National Party Balochistan President Aslam Baloch, MPAs Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch and Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, along with other party leaders, condemned the incident and called on the government to restore its authority by ensuring the victim’s safe return.

The party leaders alleged that the worsening law and order situation has turned Balochistan into a hub of insecurity, claiming that political workers, journalists, lawyers, and ordinary citizens are increasingly vulnerable to abductions and other security threats.

They criticized what they described as the government’s failure to maintain law and order, alleging that the state’s writ is effectively confined to the “Red Zone” while much of the province remains insecure. They also questioned the effectiveness of public spending on security, claiming that peace has not improved despite significant allocations.

Referring to the reported abduction of Haji Noor Ahmed Lehri, the leaders said law enforcement agencies and the administration had so far failed to trace him. They urged the authorities to ensure his immediate and safe recovery, identify those responsible, and disclose the motives behind the incident.

The National Party warned that it would announce a stronger course of action if the matter is not resolved promptly, while emphasizing that it is the responsibility of the state to guarantee the safety and security of all citizens, including political workers.
