PTI Lawmaker Accuses CM’s Brother of Political Interference, Seeks Investigation
Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Abdul Ghani Afridi has written to the province’s chief minister, alleging political and administrative interference by the chief minister’s brother in his constituency and calling for a transparent investigation.
According to the letter, which Abdul Ghani Afridi also shared on the social media platform X, he accused Naveed Afridi, the brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, of holding and patronizing public gatherings in constituency PK-71 while allegedly compelling government officials from various departments to attend.
The lawmaker claimed that officials who refused to participate were threatened with transfers. He argued that these alleged actions were undermining his authority and political standing as the elected representative of the constituency.
Abdul Ghani Afridi further stated that he had previously raised the issue with the chief minister on several occasions and had also conveyed the complaint through Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi, but no effective action had been taken.

He also questioned the role of the district administration and some government officials, alleging that they were acting on the instructions of unelected individuals, thereby affecting administrative affairs and public representation.
The PTI lawmaker urged the chief minister to order an immediate and impartial inquiry into the allegations and to take legal action against those responsible if the claims are found to be true. He warned that if the situation remains unresolved, he would consider pursuing legal and political options.
The allegations have been made by Abdul Ghani Afridi, and no response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government or the individuals named in the complaint was included in the statement.
