PM Shehbaz Sharif Likely to Reshuffle Federal Cabinet, Introduce Young Faces

Pakistan’s federal cabinet is expected to undergo a major reshuffle, with young and new faces likely to be inducted, according to sources.
Sources said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has completed consultations with his close aides and decided to provide opportunities to a new generation of leadership. The new entrants are expected to be appointed as Ministers of State.
The move is aimed at promoting hardworking, active, and result-oriented members, while strengthening the government’s overall performance.
Sources added that the Prime Minister has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of several federal ministries, particularly the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industries and Production. He also voiced concern over the lack of significant growth in exports, especially in rice, potato, and fruit exports.
To reduce the burden on the national exchequer, the government is also considering reforms in certain ministries. The Prime Minister is reportedly dissatisfied with the performance of the Ministry of Water Resources as well.
According to sources, practical measures will be taken to address shortcomings in underperforming ministries, with the Prime Minister determined to ensure accountability and make decisions based on performance.
