PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Pakistan’s Support for Regional Peace in Calls with Iranian President and Qatar’s Emir

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate telephone conversations with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to discuss recent regional developments and reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of tensions in the region during his conversation with President Pezeshkian. He stressed the importance of honoring the mutual commitments and responsibilities outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The Prime Minister said the memorandum provides a lasting foundation for promoting mutual understanding, respect, and shared prosperity across the region and beyond. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at restoring regional peace and stability and pledged the country’s continued sincere and constructive role in maintaining peace.

Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his best wishes and warm regards to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.

In a separate call with Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity and support for Qatar in light of the recent attacks and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace and cooperation.
