Balochistan Apex Committee Orders Crackdown on Illegal Foreign Residents from July 11

Quetta: The Balochistan Apex Committee has decided to launch a province-wide crackdown on illegally residing foreign nationals beginning July 11, following key decisions taken during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review the province’s security situation.

According to sources, the meeting discussed recent terrorist incidents, the overall law and order situation, and the repatriation of undocumented foreign nationals, particularly Afghan refugees.

Following the meeting, the Balochistan Police, Frontier Corps (FC), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Special Branch, and other law enforcement agencies were directed to begin large-scale operations against individuals residing illegally in Quetta and other parts of the province.

Sources said the security agencies also presented a report recommending intensified intelligence-based operations against wanted suspects and their alleged facilitators. The Apex Committee instructed the relevant authorities to implement the recommendations through coordinated action.

As part of the measures, document verification will be tightened across Quetta and other districts. Authorities will also inspect the legal status of workers employed at tandoors, dry fruit shops, and other businesses. Individuals found living in Pakistan without valid legal documents will face action in accordance with the law.

The meeting also agreed to strengthen security at sensitive locations and continue indiscriminate action against those involved in terrorism, facilitation, and other illegal activities. Joint teams comprising the FIA, Balochistan Police, Special Branch, FC Intelligence, and other relevant agencies have been formed to carry out the operations.
