Federal-Provincial Coordination Essential for Lasting Peace, Says Minister of State Talal Chaudhry

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said that effective coordination between the federal government, provincial governments, and Parliament is essential to achieve lasting peace and successfully combat terrorism.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a parliamentary delegation comprising representatives of various political parties from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who held detailed consultations with the Ministry of Interior on counterterrorism measures.

Talal Chaudhry paid tribute to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and law enforcement personnel, saying their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism are unforgettable. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the federal government is providing every possible support to restore sustainable peace in the province.

The minister emphasized that defeating terrorism requires national consensus and a unified strategy, adding that Parliament has a vital role to play in promoting peace, stability, and eliminating extremism.

He further stated that stronger cooperation between the federation and the provinces is the key to overcoming the threat of terrorism and urged lawmakers to strengthen national counterterrorism efforts through effective legislation.

During the meeting, officials from NACTA, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and NIFTAC briefed the parliamentary delegation on national counterterrorism policies and ongoing security initiatives.
