CCTV Captures Alleged Assault on Woman at Karachi Café; Police Await Medical Report

Karachi: An alleged assault on a young woman inside a café in the Bukhari Commercial area of DHA, Karachi, has come under investigation after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on July 1, when a group comprising four women and one man allegedly attacked a woman who was dining at the café. The complainant reportedly sustained injuries, including the loss of a fingernail during the altercation.

The woman alleged that she was having dinner with a friend when Hameed Kakar, Amina Khan, Ranza Shah, and Sunaina Haq, along with other individuals, allegedly assaulted her.

She further claimed that during the attack, the assailants attempted to choke her and threatened to kill and abduct her.

The complainant has demanded strict legal action against all those allegedly involved and called for justice.

Police said the woman was asked to visit the police station as part of the investigation, where authorities issued an official referral for her medical examination.

According to police officials, once the hospital’s medical report is received, a formal First Information Report (FIR) will be registered based on the complainant’s statement, and further legal action will be taken against those found responsible.

The allegations have not yet been proven in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
