Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev Voices Support for Iran During Visit to Tehran

TEHRAN:Dmitry Medvedev, head of Russia’s Security Council, said the Iranian people would emerge victorious in what he described as their struggle against the United States.
According to the statement, Medvedev is leading a high-level Russian delegation visiting Tehran to attend the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Following the memorial ceremony, Medvedev expressed condolences on behalf of Russia, saying the country shares the grief of the Iranian people over Khamenei’s death.
He said the loss of the Iranian leader had united the Iranian nation and asserted that Iran would not yield to pressure from the United States or any other country.
Medvedev further stated that the Iranian people would ultimately prevail in their confrontation with the United States.
During the visit, the Russian delegation also met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
According to Iranian officials, President Pezeshkian emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of strategic agreements between Tehran and Moscow, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation, trade, energy, and regional transit.
