Pakistan Orders Arrest of All Undocumented Afghan Nationals from July 10

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has directed authorities across the country to begin arresting all undocumented Afghan nationals from July 10 as part of the government’s Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan.

According to an official directive issued to the chief secretaries of all provinces, the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, and other relevant authorities, Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan without a valid visa will be subject to immediate arrest beginning July 10.

The directive also states that Afghan nationals whose visas have expired and who continue to remain in the country beyond their authorized stay will face legal action and deportation.

The Ministry of Interior instructed provincial governments, district administrations, and law enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the orders and to accelerate the repatriation process for undocumented foreign nationals.

Beginning July 11, all relevant authorities have been ordered to submit daily reports to the Ministry of Interior. The reports must include the number of undocumented Afghan nationals apprehended, details of the action taken against them, and their current legal or deportation status.

The ministry described the matter as a high priority and directed all concerned departments to ensure immediate and full compliance with the government’s repatriation policy.
