PkMAP Condemns Killing of Quetta Trader, Demands Immediate Arrest of Suspects

QUETTA: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Provincial General Secretary Kabir Afghan has strongly condemned the killing of prominent trader Hashim Khan Norzai, describing the incident as evidence of the deteriorating law and order situation in Quetta and southern Pashtunkhwa.

Addressing a protest sit-in held at the Bileli Check Post against the trader’s killing, Kabir Afghan said Quetta and the wider southern Pashtunkhwa region were facing a severe security crisis marked by terrorism, lawlessness, kidnappings for ransom, targeted killings, robberies, and violent crime.

He said the lives, property, and dignity of citizens were no longer safe, alleging that the government and relevant institutions had failed to fulfill their basic responsibility of protecting the public.

Kabir Afghan said Hashim Khan Norzai was brutally murdered in broad daylight and described the incident as proof that criminal elements were operating without fear of accountability. He said PkMAP strongly condemned the killing and expressed solidarity with the victim’s family.

He added that traders, business owners, and ordinary citizens were living under constant insecurity, which was negatively affecting commercial activities across the region. He warned that if the government failed to provide protection, people would be forced to take action to safeguard themselves.

The PkMAP leader demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the murder, urging authorities to ensure they receive punishment in accordance with the law and to provide justice to the victim’s family.

He also called for effective measures to restore peace and security in Quetta and across southern Pashtunkhwa, warning that if the killers were not arrested and citizens’ safety was not ensured, the party would launch further action with public support.
