Pakistan Keeps Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged, Raises Petroleum Levy

The Government of Pakistan has decided to keep petrol and high-speed diesel prices unchanged for the next fortnight, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.

Under the latest pricing decision, petrol will continue to be sold at **Rs. 299.50 per litre**, while the price of **high-speed diesel (HSD)** will remain **Rs. 311.47 per litre**.

Despite maintaining fuel prices, the government has increased the **petroleum levy** on both petrol and diesel. According to Petroleum Division sources, the levy on diesel has been raised by **Rs. 6.57 per litre**, increasing from **Rs. 72.97** to **Rs. 79.54 per litre**.

The petroleum levy on petrol has also been increased by **39 paisas per litre**, taking it from **Rs. 66.25** to **Rs. 66.64 per litre**. Meanwhile, the levy on kerosene oil remains unchanged at **Rs. 20.36 per litre**.

The latest decision comes a week after the government announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, cutting petrol by **Rs. 74 per litre** and diesel by **Rs. 67 per litre**. Following those reductions, the price of petrol dropped from **Rs. 373** to **Rs. 299.50 per litre**, while diesel fell from **Rs. 378** to **Rs. 311.47 per litre**.
