Balochistan Government Will Not Compromise on Justice, Rule of Law and Citizens’ Protection, Says CM Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to justice, the rule of law, and the protection of citizens, stating that no compromise will be made on these fundamental principles.

In a statement posted on X, the chief minister paid tribute to Shaheed Shabbir Baloch, saying that he was not merely a uniformed official but also a beloved son, a source of support for his siblings, and a loyal friend. Bugti described his killing by stoning as a brutal and heartbreaking incident that deeply shocked the conscience of humanity.

The chief minister noted that the mother of the slain official waited for two years with patience and determination in her pursuit of justice. During this period, he said, the government and law enforcement agencies ensured proper prosecution of the case so that justice could be delivered to the bereaved family.

Bugti said that the judicial process ultimately took its course, and the court, after reviewing all facts, evidence, and legal requirements, delivered its verdict and punished those responsible for the crime.

He emphasized that the decision not only brought relief to the victim’s family but also sent a strong message about the supremacy of law and the delivery of justice in society.

The chief minister stated that the verdict provided a measure of solace to the grieving mother, who, after years of waiting, felt that although justice had been delayed, it had ultimately been served.

Reaffirming the government’s support for the families of martyrs, Bugti said the Balochistan government would continue to fulfill its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of all citizens. He added that strict legal action would continue against those who take the law into their own hands, attack state personnel, or seek to create disorder in society.

The chief minister concluded by saying that the sacrifice of Shaheed Shabbir Baloch would always be remembered and that the government stands in complete solidarity with his family. He reiterated that the government would not compromise on justice, the rule of law, or the protection of citizens.
