9 People Killed in Traffic Accidents in Karachi Over the Last 24 Hours: Police Report

Karachi:In the past 24 hours, nine people lost their lives in various traffic accidents in Karachi, and the Traffic Police have provided detailed explanations for these incidents.
According to the Traffic Police, one accident occurred near Mehran Highway, Landhi, where a motorcycle slipped, leading to the death of a man named Shafiq, who was hit by a vehicle coming from behind.
Another tragic incident involved a bus in Khohrapar, which met with an accident due to a burst brake pressure pipe. A mother, Bismah, and her daughter, Arham, lost their lives in this incident.
On Rashid Minhas Road, an accident occurred due to a dumper’s brake failure, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a woman, while one person was injured.
A motorcycle accident near the Ayub Shah Bukhari Shrine on Lyari Nadi occurred when the rider lost control. As a result, Ismail was killed, and three children were injured.
Near the Malir Halt Bridge, an unknown vehicle collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of a father, Saleem, and his son, Afan. The mother was injured in the accident.
In Bhains Colony, a motorcycle rider hit a pedestrian, causing the death of the pedestrian, Saeed.
The Traffic Police spokesperson revealed that 99 fatal accidents have occurred in the city this year. Of these, 32 were caused by heavy traffic. In three accidents involving dumpers, five people lost their lives. Ten accidents involving trailers resulted in twelve fatalities. Thirteen accidents with trucks led to thirteen deaths. Water tankers caused five accidents, killing eight people, while an accident involving an oil tanker resulted in one fatality.
The Traffic Police also highlighted that 34,655 traffic violations were reported, and 489 drivers were arrested for dangerous driving.
