LAHORE: On 9th May, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmeen Rashid, and seven other suspects were formally charged in connection with the Shadman Police Station incidents. The hearing took place at the Anti-Terrorism Court, Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, where Judge Khalid Arshad indicted them and summoned witnesses for the next hearing. The court adjourned the case until 18th July for further proceedings.
Earlier, PTI leader and former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had been brought to Kot Lakhpat Jail under tight security regarding the 9th May case, alongside other suspects appearing before the court. The Anti-Terrorism Court had requested proceedings against the suspects for their alleged involvement in various incidents related to the Shadman Police Station. Currently, cases against Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others are pending in the courts of Sarwar Road and Race Course police stations.
