Ayesha Omar Speaks Out on Past Privacy Leak Controversy After Years

KARACHI, June 23, 2026 — Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar has spoken publicly after several years about the controversy surrounding the leak of her private vacation photographs.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Ayesha Omar said she was on holiday in Thailand with her close friend and actress Maria Wasti when her private images were unlawfully leaked online.

She explained that some of the photos showed her wearing a swimsuit, while others featured her in summer clothing and skirts. Following the leak, she said she faced severe public criticism, which also had a negative impact on her professional career.

Ayesha Omar added that at the time, certain producers in the entertainment industry placed significant emphasis on a specific public image for female actors, which resulted in her being excluded from some projects.

She strongly condemned the unauthorized sharing of private images, calling it a violation of privacy and consent. She further stated that she is now working with a non-governmental organization to raise awareness about the misuse of personal data and images.
