Another Setback for Banned Awami Action Committee as Core Member Announces Disassociation

Islamabad: The banned Joint Awami Action Committee has suffered another setback after one of its core committee members, Anjum Zaman Awan, publicly announced his disassociation from the group and urged young people to avoid what he described as a destructive political agenda.

In a video message, Awan rejected the activities and narrative of the banned committee and called on the youth to return to constructive and positive political engagement.

Addressing young people, Awan said that slogans promoting separation and autonomy were allegedly being driven by forces hostile to Pakistan. He claimed that certain elements were misleading the youth and that anti-Pakistan agencies and hidden interests were operating behind the scenes.

He further stated that a movement that had originally been peaceful was diverted in a way that encouraged young people to engage in unlawful activities, ultimately harming their future prospects.

Awan announced his complete disassociation from the banned Joint Awami Action Committee and urged citizens not to become part of any group or organization that, in his view, promotes an anti-Pakistan agenda.

He is the second core committee member to distance himself from the organization. Earlier, core member Advocate Amjad Ali Khan had also announced his separation from the banned committee.

According to reports, Awan’s statement has intensified scrutiny of the group’s activities and internal divisions. In his message, he rejected narratives directed against Pakistan and the country’s armed forces and formally severed ties with the organization.
