PPP and IPP Finalize Power-Sharing Formula for Gilgit-Baltistan Government Formation

GILGIT: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) have finalized an agreement for the formation of a new government in Gilgit-Baltistan, bringing ongoing political negotiations to a successful conclusion.

According to reports, the leadership of both parties formally announced their alliance during a joint press conference in Gilgit. Senior leaders from PPP and IPP appeared together, signaling a consensus on government formation and future cooperation in the region.

PPP central leaders Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and Qamar Zaman Kaira attended the press conference and stated that both parties had reached a complete understanding on all matters related to the establishment of a stable government and the development of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The leaders emphasized that the alliance was formed with the objective of ensuring political stability, strengthening governance, and accelerating the socio-economic development of the region.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP’s nominee for the office of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Advocate, outlined the vision of the incoming government. He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party for extending unconditional support and political cooperation during the government formation process.

Amjad Hussain said the new political partnership would work collectively to safeguard the rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and introduce economic and administrative reforms aimed at improving governance and public welfare.

The announcement marks a significant development in Gilgit-Baltistan’s political landscape, paving the way for the formation of a coalition government backed by both PPP and IPP.
