Stormy Weather Across Punjab Causes Fatalities, Infrastructure Damage and Flight Disruptions

LAHORE: Heavy thunderstorms and strong winds swept across parts of Punjab, including Lahore, causing widespread disruption to daily life, transport, and infrastructure.
Following intense winds and torrential rain, flight operations in Lahore experienced delays and difficulties in both arrivals and departures.
In Faisalabad, a roof collapse caused by severe rainfall left five people injured. Rescue teams shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
In Bahawalnagar, the collapse of a wall injured three people, while in Chiniot, lightning strikes resulted in one death and one injury.
Strong winds also uprooted trees in Rajanpur, Burewala, and Jahanian, while several electricity feeders tripped, causing widespread power outages.
In Dera Ismail Khan, rain-related incidents led to the deaths of four people, according to local reports.
Authorities are assessing the damage as intermittent rain continues in several regions, with emergency response teams remaining on alert.
