Switzerland and Qatar Share Points After 1-1 Draw in World Cup Clash

Switzerland and Qatar played out a 1-1 draw in the third day’s opening match of the FIFA World Cup, held in San Francisco, resulting in Qatar earning its first-ever point in the mega tournament.

Switzerland dominated large portions of the match, creating multiple dangerous attacks and maintaining control for most of the game.

The Swiss side took the lead in the 17th minute of the first half after being awarded a penalty following a foul. Breel Embolo successfully converted the spot-kick to give Switzerland a 1-0 advantage, which remained unchanged until halftime.

In the second half, both teams continued to push for goals, but it was Qatar who struck late in the game. In the closing moments, Boualem Khoukhi scored with a header following a well-worked move to level the match at 1-1.

The final whistle confirmed the draw, with both teams sharing points after an intense contest.
