Heatwave Alert Issued for Sindh as Karachi Temperature May Reach 42°C

A moderate to severe heatwave is expected to affect most districts of Sindh until June 12, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The weather department has warned that temperatures in Karachi could rise as high as **42 degrees Celsius**, with hot and humid conditions likely to persist over the next 24 hours.
Officials reported that humidity levels in the city have reached **79 percent**, while southwesterly sea breezes are blowing at a speed of **22 kilometers per hour**.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi during the past 24 hours was **30.3 degrees Celsius**.
Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and take precautionary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses during the ongoing heatwave.
