Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Arrives in Tehran with Special Messages for Iranian Leadership

Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has said that he arrived in Tehran carrying a special letter from Pakistan’s Field Marshal for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, amid the evolving regional situation.

Speaking to the media during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni, Naqvi stated that he was also carrying a message from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the Iranian leadership.

During the meeting, the two interior ministers reviewed the regional security environment and discussed matters of mutual interest. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing developments affecting the region.

According to Arab media reports, Mohsin Naqvi is expected to discuss ways to reach a memorandum of understanding during his visit to Tehran. This marks his third visit to Iran in recent months as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two neighboring countries.

Sources cited by Arab media also indicated progress regarding Iran’s frozen funds, although differences reportedly remain over the amount involved and the timeline for their release.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that U.S. President Donald Trump has informed mediators that negotiations would not continue indefinitely beyond a 60-day timeframe, placing pressure on Iran to provide a swift response.

The visit comes at a time of heightened diplomatic activity in the region, with Pakistan and Iran maintaining close consultations on security, economic, and strategic issues.
