KP Chief Minister Seeks Court Permission to Meet Imran Khan Over Budget Consultation

PeshawarضKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has sought permission to meet Imran Khan in jail for consultations regarding the province’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

According to reports, the chief minister filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, arguing that the provincial budget is a sensitive matter and that permission for the meeting should be granted on constitutional, legal, and humanitarian grounds.

In the application, Sohail Afridi stated that the budget has already been prepared and requires approval from Imran Khan, making the meeting necessary before the budget is finalized.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Finance, Muzammil Aslam, criticized the federal government’s development priorities, alleging that only six projects from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been included in the federal development program.

He further claimed that the federal budget offers little to no significant allocation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, expressing concerns over what he described as inadequate attention to the province’s development needs.

The developments come as provincial authorities finalize budget proposals ahead of the new fiscal year amid ongoing political and economic discussions in Pakistan.
