U.S. House Approves Resolution Limiting Trump’s Authority on Iran Military Action

Washington:The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump’s authority to take military action against Iran without congressional approval.
According to U.S. media reports, the resolution was introduced by Democratic lawmakers amid ongoing concerns over a potential conflict with Iran.
The measure passed the House by a vote of 215 to 208. Four Republican lawmakers joined Democrats in supporting the resolution.
Under the resolution, any military action against Iran would require prior authorization from Congress, except in cases permitted under existing constitutional and legal provisions.
Supporters of the measure argue that decisions involving war and military engagement should be subject to congressional oversight, while opponents contend that the president must retain flexibility to respond to national security threats.
The vote reflects continuing debate in Washington over the balance of war powers between Congress and the White House.
