Pakistan Proposes Rs1.126 Trillion Development Budget and 4% GDP Growth Target for Next Fiscal Year

The government has proposed allocating Rs1.126 trillion for the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the upcoming fiscal year as part of its development spending plans.
A meeting of the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC), chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, has been scheduled for Monday to approve the development budget for the next financial year.
Representatives from federal ministries and provincial governments will also participate in the meeting. The committee’s recommendations will subsequently be presented to the National Economic Council (NEC), which is expected to meet on June 3 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In addition to the proposed PSDP allocation, the government is also considering setting a GDP growth target of 4 percent for the next fiscal year.
The development budget and economic growth targets will be finalized following discussions and approval by the relevant planning and economic bodies.
